Biscuits and Slices

Why this recipe is special:
My own quick and easy version of Tan Square

Serves: 20+

Ingredients:




3 cups flour
•2 t Hansells baking powder
•11/4 cups brown sugar
1 t Hansells caramel essence•
•250g melted butter
•1 can Highlander caramel
approx 200g chocolate chips

Method:
1Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Stir in brown sugar.
2Add melted butter, mix well.
3Press ¾ of the mixture (reserve ¼ of the mixture for the topping) into greased sponge roll tin. Bake in a preheated oven, 180 degC, for 10-12 minutes.
4.Stir caramel until smooth, then spread over base. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the caramel. Return to the oven and bake at 180 deg C for a further 10 minutes.
5Remove from oven and sprinkle over chocolate chips.
6..Cool until well set then cut into slices.
