Biscuits and Slices
Why this recipe is special:
This recipe was passed on to me by my Nanna. It is simple, only uses one bowl and keeps wonderfully for several days. I have also made this slice using the Hansells Brandy and Rum essences.
Serves: 16
Ingredients:
CAKE INGREDIENTS
2 Eggs
1 Cup Brown Sugar
175gm Butter melted
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Tablespoon Hansells Caramel Natural Essence
1 Cup Dates chopped
1 1/2 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Hansells Baking Powder
ICING INGREDIENTS
2 Cups Icing Sugar
25gm Butter melted
1 Tablespoon Hansells Caramel Natural Essence
Boiling Water
Method:
Beat eggs, add rest of the cake ingredients and mix well. Spread into a slice tin lined with baking paper. Cook at 150 C for 30-40 minutes. Cool in tin then turn out and spread with icing.
ICING - Mix together ingredients and add boiling water until they make a smooth, spreadable icing.
