Anzac Biscuits by Hansells Recipes
Cakes and Tarts
Serves: 20+
Ingredients:
125g butter
1/4 cup golden syrup
1/2 teaspoon Hansells Baking Soda
1 tablespoon hot water
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup fine desiccated coconut
1 cup rolled oats
Method:
Melt the butter and golden syrup in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. Remove from the heat. Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water and mix into the melted ingredients.
Mix the flour, sugar, coconut and oats together until combined. Mix into the butter mixture until well combined.
Using a measuring tablespoon, take level spoons of mixture and place on a baking paper lined oven tray. Allow room for spreading. Flatten slightly with a fork.
Bake at 180 degrees C for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden. Leave on the oven tray to cool and firm before moving to a cooling rack.
