These neenish tarts are definitely a family favourite and are the luxurious taste and texture is simply to die for. They look effortless and are perfect to bite into with coffee, for brunch, afternoon tea or that after-dinner snack. Simply the best!

Ingredients:

BASE INGREDIENTS

100g Butter
100g Sugar
1 Tsp HANSELLS Baking Powder
1 egg
1 pinch salt
225g Flour

FILLING INGREDIENTS

4T Butter
4T Sweetened condensed milk
4T Icing sugar
2 Dessertspoons lemon
Method:

TO MAKE BASE

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Mix in sifted dry ingredients and knead well. Roll out and line patty tins. Now simple prick and bake for 10-15 minutes at preheated 350F. When cold, fill with the filling:

Soften butter and then add the sifted icing sugar, sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice. When set, ice half top with white lemon flavoured icing and half with chocolate icing.
